These are real lines from our own test calls on Zoom, shown unedited, including one our grader marked down. Timings are measured from the end of each spoken line.

In our own tests

  • 84 of 84 lines translated across 14 language pairs, accuracy 4.9 out of 5
  • Replies about a second after the speaker. With Soniox and ElevenLabs it starts speaking about 0.1 s before they finish
  • Greeted a waiting guest 4.4 s after they joined, and texted the host in 3.3 s
  • Answered a question from a PDF attached to the meeting

Scored by an AI grader. These are our tests, not a customer study.

What time does the store close on Fridays?

Our grader marked this 4 of 5: almacén is closer to warehouse.

Cal covering for a late host

The host had not joined. A test guest arrived early.

  1. Stress Guest joins. The host is texted 3.3 s later.
  2. Cal in English

Hey, Stress! I'm Cal, Michael's assistant. Michael hasn't joined us yet, so I'm covering until they arrive. The agenda is the Q4 pricing proposal.

Spoken 4.4 s after the guest joined.

  3. The host replies by text: “I'm 5 min out”
  4. Cal in English

Quick update! Michael says about 5 more minutes. Thanks for hanging in.

Cal answering from a PDF

A three-page terms of service PDF was attached to the meeting before it started.

  1. Host in English

Cal, what does the attached document say about the refund policy?

  2. Cal in English

They give you a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of your first payment. After that, annual plans get a pro rata refund for unused full months minus a 10 percent fee.

Every detail came from the PDF.

Cal takes the notes

Notes from the call, kept up as you talk.

Cal joins as one named participant and writes down who said what. Guests follow along on a live captions page, and you leave with the summary, the tasks and a recap in your inbox.

  • A transcript with every speaker's name
  • A live captions link posted in the meeting chat
  • A running summary every few minutes
  • Tasks captured as people say them, then tracked on the booking
  • A recap email when the call ends

Cal interprets

Every word in both languages, about a second behind.

Everyone speaks their own language. Cal repeats each turn out loud in the other one, in a natural voice. At $15 an hour it costs one tenth of a $150-an-hour human interpreter, and a fifth of a $75 one.

  • 31 languages, both directions or one way
  • A glossary so names, places and your own terms come out right
  • About a second behind the speaker, in a natural voice

In our own tests: 84 of 84 lines translated across 14 language pairs, accuracy 4.9 out of 5.

Cal covers when you're late

Running late? Cal holds the meeting.

When a guest joins before you do, Cal greets them, tells them when you'll be there and walks them through your briefing. You get a text the moment anyone is waiting.

  • Greets your guest by name and tells them when you'll arrive
  • Walks them through your briefing and takes their questions
  • Texts you the moment anyone is waiting, with one-tap replies: “I'm 5 min out” or “Start without me”
  • Catches you up in two sentences when you join

In our own tests Cal greeted a waiting guest 4.4 s after they joined, and the host's text went out in 3.3 s.

Cal answers and researches

It works for you while you talk.

Ask Cal out loud, or in a private chat only you can see. It answers questions, looks things up on the web, and puts your links, docs and PDFs on its screen so nobody waits while you hunt for a tab.

  • Answers questions and does web research mid-call
  • Puts your links, docs and PDFs on its own screen
  • Reads the PDFs you attach and answers from them
  • A private chat with you in the dashboard that guests never see
  • A control room where you switch Cal's jobs on or off, mute it or pause it mid-call

In our own tests Cal answered a question about a refund policy from a three-page PDF attached to the meeting, with every detail taken from the document.

Booking pages, confirmed by text

Booking pages that get people to show up.

Share one link. Guests pick a time from your real availability, answer your questions, and confirm or reschedule by text. You walk in with a brief, and Cal joins the call on its own with the jobs you chose for that meeting.

  • Calendar sync across Google and Outlook
  • Custom forms with nine question types and show-if logic
  • Text confirmations and reminders; guests confirm or reschedule by replying
  • A pre-meeting brief built from their answers
  • No-show detection that tells you who actually joined

Nine question types

  • Short answer
  • Paragraph
  • Choose one
  • Choose any
  • Yes or no
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Number
  • Date

Any question can show only when an earlier answer matches, so guests see just what applies to them.

For meetings in two languages, or without you.

Most of all, for businesses that pay an interpreter today or lose clients to missed calls. Here's where Cal fits.

Questions people ask before inviting it.

Is it recording? Do people know it's there?

Cal joins as a visible participant named after you, for example “Cal — Sam's assistant”, and announces itself when it arrives. It keeps a transcript of the call, saved to that booking for you. Anyone in the meeting can remove it, the same way they would remove any participant.

Which meeting platforms does it work with?

Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Cal joins through the meeting link on your calendar event, so your guests don't install anything.

Which languages can it interpret?

31: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Swedish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Czech, Greek, Finnish, Croatian, Malay, Slovak, Danish, Tamil, Ukrainian, Hungarian and Norwegian. Set it to interpret both directions, where each side speaks their own language, or one way. In our own tests it translated 84 of 84 lines across 14 language pairs, with an average accuracy of 4.9 out of 5.

What counts as a minute?

Voice agent minutes are minutes Cal is in your call with a speaking job: interpreting, covering for you or assisting. Notetaker minutes are when Cal only listens, and cost less. Minutes count while Cal is in the call, including the two minutes it joins early. If Cal has a speaking job in a call, that call's minutes are voice agent minutes; if it only listens and takes notes, they're notetaker minutes. Booking pages, calendar sync and forms never use minutes, and each text sent counts as one text. Beyond your plan it's $0.25 per voice agent minute, $0.05 per notetaker minute and $0.05 per text. Free stops at 30 notetaker minutes and 20 texts and never bills.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There's no contract. Pro and Business are billed monthly or yearly ($290 and $990 a year), Team and Agency monthly. Cancel whenever you like and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Launch pricing: prices in USD and may change before general availability.

Does it talk over people?

No. It speaks when someone addresses it (“Cal, ...”), when it's interpreting, or when it's covering for you before you arrive. The rest of the time it listens.
